27th Anniversary Dinner a Huge Success to Help Fight Domestic Violence & Homelessness
LAS VEGAS, NV — The Shade Tree, a shelter for women, children, and their pets, celebrated 27 years helping the homeless and those who are victims of domestic violence in the Las Vegas community. The night was an event spent with local community leaders and donors who raised $103,415 at the November 20th celebration.
“As a member of the The Shade Tree’s board for the past three years, I’ve personally seen the heartbreak and struggle so many women and children experience in our community. But I’ve also seen the great spirit of these women and children to overcome the adversity they face and the generosity of so many in the community to help them do so,” said Beli Andaluz, Board Chair of The Shade Tree.
There are many key contributors who supported the event and helped raise funds including, Advanced Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, TWC a commercial construction company, Everi a gaming solutions corporation, and Beli Andaluz Salon. Our honorees, Pasquale Rotella of Insomniac and Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Hakkasan Group, and Travis Turner Immediate Past Chair of the Board, all contributed to the event in a major way along with many other long time supporters and donors.
“On behalf of the women, children, and pets of The Shade Tree, we thank all of our supporters for their generosity,” said Marlene Richter, Executive Director of The Shade Tree. “Twenty-seven years is possible only with the support of our community. We are delighted to have so many compassionate friends helping those in crisis.”
The Shade Tree is Southern Nevada’s only 24-hour accessible emergency shelter for women and children in crisis, providing over 100,000 nights of shelter, supplying more than 165,000 meals every year, and servicing over 6,000 women and children annually. The 27th Anniversary Dinner succeeded at raising awareness and funds to support the shelter’s mission while also recognizing the honoree’s contributions.
